CBI Searches At P Chidambaram’s Premises Linked To Son Karti: Sources

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is conducting searches at a number of residential and official premises of senior Congress chief P Chidambaram throughout Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Sivagangai in Tamil Nadu, sources mentioned in the present day.

The searches are reportedly being performed at round seven premises of the previous Union Minister throughout these cities, in reference to an ongoing case towards his son Karti Chidambaram, the Congress MP from Sivaganga.

In response to sources, the investigative company has registered a recent case towards Karti Chidambaram for allegedly receiving unlawful gratification. Sources say that the Congress MP facilitated the venture visa to an organization for an influence venture in Punjab in lieu of unlawful gratification between 2010-14.
    
Karti Chidambaram is being probed in a number of instances, together with the one regarding International Funding Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance to INX Media for receiving international funds to the tune of Rs 305 crore when his father was the finance minister.

The CBI registered a corruption case within the matter on Might 15, 2017. Subsequently, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) lodged the cash laundering case.

Karti Chidambaram was arrested by CBI in February 2018 and he was granted bail after a month in March.
