Extra central safety forces have been despatched to Manipur

The centre has despatched over 900 extra safety personnel to ethnic violence-hit Manipur amid rising tensions, three months after clashes broke out between the Kuki-Zo-Chin tribes and the Meiteis.
A senior police officer stated the Dwelling Ministry has despatched 10 extra corporations – or some 900 personnel – of the paramilitary forces CRPF, BSF, ITBP and SSB to Manipur. They arrived within the state capital Imphal on Saturday evening. They’re being deployed in a number of districts of the northeast state.
After ethnic violence broke out on Could 3, the Defence Ministry and the Dwelling Ministry deployed over 40,000 personnel of the military, the paramilitary Assam Rifles, and numerous Central Armed Police Power (CAPF).
