Former finance minister Sartaj Aziz passes away

Former federal minister for finance Sartaj Aziz handed away on Tuesday on the age of 95.

PML-N chief Ahsan Iqbal shared the message on social media.

Born in 1929, Mr Aziz had an extended profession encompassing public workplace, academia, and the civil service.

He formed financial methods that led Pakistan via pivotal intervals whereas holding distinguished posts within the Planning Fee and the Ministry of Finance.

Furthermore, his expertise transcended nationwide boundaries as he held positions as Director of the Meals and Agriculture Group’s Commodities and Commerce Division and Assistant President of the Worldwide Fund for Agricultural Improvement (IFAD).

Throughout his political profession, he was named finance minister by PM Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto within the 1970s after being elected as a member of the Nationwide Meeting.

Later, within the 1990s, he once more held the place of Finance Minister underneath PM Nawaz Sharif.
