Granada’s match towards Athletic Bilbao on Sunday in La Liga was deserted after a supporter died within the stands on the Nuevo Los Carmenes stadium. The match was paused after 18 minutes with guests Athletic main 1-Zero because the Granada fan obtained medical consideration, with La Liga confirming the match was then deserted “due to the unhappy dying of a fan” in an announcement.
Gamers from either side left the pitch 20 minutes after play was suspended, with supporters then requested to go away the stadium after the choice was ultimately taken to desert the sport.
Granada mentioned in an announcement the match was “suspended indefinitely after the dying of a membership season ticket holder” and provided their condolences to the fan’s household and associates.
Athletic goalkeeper Unai Simon was applauded by Granada followers after serving to to tell officers of the incident within the stands.
Guests Athletic had been main by an early Inaki Williams strike. La Liga mentioned they’d quickly announce a brand new date and time for the match to be resumed.
