Home speaker stay updates: Path ahead unsure; Jim Jordan says he’ll search third vote

The trail ahead for Home Republicans on selecting a speaker was unsure Thursday after members emerged from a prolonged, heated assembly. Earlier Thursday, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), the embattled GOP speaker nominee, instructed his convention that he would again a plan to briefly broaden the powers of Rep. Patrick T. McHenry (R-N.C.), the short-term speaker, and delay a 3rd poll for speaker. Jordan later urged to reporters that the plan gained’t transfer ahead as of now. He stated he would search a 3rd poll for speaker, although the timing was unclear.
