The Anti-Gangster Activity Drive arrested a drug gang chief in Gangapur Metropolis district and seized over 121 kg of ganja, 588 grams of opium, 900 grams of doda poppy and Rs 1,52,260 in money from his home, police mentioned on Sunday.

The duty pressure arrested the drug gang chief from his home in Todabhim police station space on Saturday, they mentioned.

The worth of the medication seized has been estimated at Rs 1.21 crore within the worldwide market, police mentioned.

Further Director Normal of Police, Crime and Anti-Gangster Activity Drive, Dinesh MN, mentioned that the duty pressure staff took main motion on Saturday and arrested drug gang chief Ratan Singh Dhakad from his home in Todabhim police station space of Gangapur Metropolis district.

Over 121 kg of ganja, 588 grams of opium, 900 grams of doda poppy and Rs 1,52,260 in money had been recovered from Dhakad, he added.

The senior police official mentioned that the staff raided the accused’s home and arrested him from the spot.

The accused used to get large consignments of medicine from Odisha and provided them to the native smugglers of Alwar, Bandikui and Gangapur Metropolis, he added.

A case beneath the Narcotic Medicine and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered in opposition to the accused in Todabhim police station and additional investigation is on into the matter, police mentioned.
