SARGODHA: A minimum of eight individuals had been killed and round 13 others injured when an LPG cylinder put in in a passenger van with 21 onboard exploded in Bhalwal metropolis of Sargodha district, police stated on Saturday.
The van, a white Toyota Hiace, with a substandard cylinder full of LPG fuel for gas was en path to Kot Momin when the unlucky incident befell.
The police stated that the explosion befell on account of a fuel leak from the LPG cylinder. The automobile caught fireplace proper after the cylinder’s explosion.
It added that the injured had been shifted to close by hospitals, whereas the driving force of the van owned by a personal firm fled the scene.
Incidents like this should not unusual in Pakistan as a number of passenger vans have substandard cylinders, with no high quality and safety checks in place.
