The automobile on the centre of a horrific fireplace that engilfed a multi-storey automobile park and destroyed 1,200 autos has been revealed.

The blaze ripped by way of Luton Airport’s automobile park at round 9pm on Tuesday, October 10. 

Firefighters battled the flames and plumes of smoke into the evening, with 4 taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.

This morning (Wednesday, October 11), fireplace crews have revealed the automobile was diesel powered.

Andrew Hopkinson, chief fireplace officer for Bedfordshire Fireplace and Rescue Service, has defined how the fireplace began.

He mentioned: “Now we have no intelligence at this stage to counsel that this was something apart from an unintentional fireplace that began in one of many autos that had not lengthy arrived on the airport.

“It was not an EV. This was a diesel powered automobile.”
