Although rain stays unseen on the canvasses, it’s sensed within the artwork by the colors of various feelings. KT Mathai scours the town and finds the “metropolis’s soul” within the nocturnal beings who stroll the streets. His vibrant works painting the marginalised in deep slumber after a day’s work. Aami Atmaja who transposes the phrase chitrakari (artist) into kithrachari paints, in watercolors, the cries of individuals as exaggerated smiles. PV Nandan’s prepare ferrying the man travellers is his interpretation of a shared, rain-washed journey. Madhu Venugoplan’s works specific, Homeostasis, a steadiness with out which human performance shouldn’t be doable. Anupama Alias interprets the frequent language of grief in her works, as “the continuation of cruelties all by historical past” and portrays a lady on the centre of it. Jyothiraj Mayampilly’s figurative works is a direct testimony to his experiences, he writes. He focusses on the lives of the farmers, immediately impacted by rainfall. Mibin’s small framed objects and a central portray is of a delicate acutely aware life and the basics that make it occur. Rain sends Sujith SN into introspection and he retreats into his internal world. His six works mirror the conversations therein.
